Nepal Summer 2014

+ Between May 21 and July 12 I will be using an international phone for emergencies and making occasional phone calls home. However, receiving text messages is FREE so I encourage you all to send me frequent messages! Dial 19406034066. +

Hello! For those of you who don’t know, this summer I will be going to Nepal to complete the 156 mile Annapurna Circuit before volunteering in an Environmental Awareness Program. Here I will live with a host family and  perform tasks ranging from physical labor (seed collecting, weeding, etc) to carrying out research and engaging in the study of Nepal’s endangered plants, as well as get involved in the local community to promote environmental awareness and conservation. This Blog is to share my thoughts and stories as well as inspire others to start their own adventures and explore the world.

**** So volunteering did not go as planned and I ended up doing stuff a little different. Look at Trip Overview! ****

Laura! Dang, you are in Manang? How did you make it up there in 2-3 days? Be sure to stop and sit a spell if you are hiking at that rate, especially before getting up to the Thorang-la pass. So happy for you, and I hope you are taking tons of photos! Aidan has updates on facebook for us, too.

  2. John t. Harris says:

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures and discoveries! Love you, Granny and PJ.

  3. How does one poop “authentically”? No, wait — I’d rather not know. I’d rather you tell me in person, when you come back, real soon. Love you tons, mom. (Do no accept everything offered to you by anybody!)

  4. Amy M says:

Can’t wait to hear more about your travels and hope that you are having a great time!

Oh, yeah (about the tp). Don’t think I ever had an authentic poop. I usually managed to have my own stash of paper. That’s why you don’t eat with your left hand when you are in Nepal. 🙂
